| Infusion Set | Important Reminders for Success | Picture |
|---|---|---|
| Quick-set (with an insertion device) | Tip: Be careful not to put pressure on the blue release button at the bottom of the insertion device when you put the Quick-set into the insertion device. You may be doing this without realizing it if you cup the insertion device in your hands or if you place the Quick-serter on a table. Reason: Putting pressure on the blue button will prevent the Quick-set from locking into place. This may result in an improper insertion or the infusion set falling out during the insertion process. |
|
| Tip: After you press the white buttons on the sides of the Quick-serter to insert your infusion set, press on the blue release button before pulling the insertion device away from your body. Reason: Pressing the blue release button is important or the Quick-serter may tug on the infusion set, possibly pulling it out of the body or it may cause the cannula to bend. Tip: Before you remove your introducer needle make sure the adhesive is flat against your skin. Reason: Missing this step can possibly lead to it pulling out of the body or it may cause the cannula to bend. |
mio | Tip: Be careful not to pull too hard when the tubing is fully unwound as this could accidentally dislodge the infusion set from the needle and insertion device. Reason: If the infusion set is not securely placed in the insertion device with the needle pointing straight ahead, pain or minor injury may occur and it could lead to a bent cannula. |
| Tip: After you insert the infusion set, remember to push on the center of the inserter to secure the adhesive onto your skin. Reason: Missing this step can lead to the set coming out or may bend the cannula. |
